Echoes of The Earth
MUGLA, TURKEY - İCMELER KÜLTÜR VE SANAT EVİ AUGUST 2025
Our lives deepen through time spent immersed in nature, where a heightened sense of being alive begins to awaken. Echoes of the Earth invites viewers to reimagine the natural world — not as something separate, but as something deeply familiar and intertwined with human experience.
When you wander into a forest and spend time truly looking and listening, a question may arise: Is what I’m seeing real? Portals appear when least expected. Trees twist toward the sun in surreal formations. Stones mirror the contours of the human body. From the soil, surprising colors emerge — silver, blue, indigo. These forms are not mere coincidences. Nature echoes the shapes, rhythms, and patterns we encounter in everyday life. The boundaries blur, and what remains is wonder: nature is magic.
Ceramicist Sharon Prempeh and multimedia artist Marga Patterson share a deep reverence for the natural world. Their bond was forged through a mutual passion for working with earth materials. Both artists approach their materials intuitively, allowing clay and stone to guide the process. Rooted in curiosity, they combine traditional and experimental techniques, transforming the earth’s raw offerings into tactile gestures of gratitude.
